Welcome Back Ranchos Middle School to the 2023-2024 School Year!

Good Morning RMS Families!

I hope all of you had an amazing Summer!  We would like to welcome everyone back to the 2023-2024 school year! Please take a look at the following important dates and information as we approach the new year.

  •  The Student Data Confirmation (Online Registration) is now open! Please log into your parent portal account at Https:// to begin confirming your information, digitally signing any required documents and updating your contacts and medical information. Please have this completed by Friday, August 4th to ensure you receive your student's class schedule and be able to check out their laptop.
  •  Class schedules will be available for all students via Aeries on Monday, August 7th. All students will have 6 classes including ELA/Math/History/Science/PE/Elective. Students wishing to change their elective classes can fill out the schedule change form during the first week of school. The last day to request a schedule change is August 25th.
  • The RMS office is officially open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday to answer any questions, turn in any necessary paperwork or purchase the following items for the 23-24 school year:
    • Agenda $3  
    • Yearbook  $40 (*Price will increase to $45 October 1st, 2023 )
    • PE Shirt $8
    • PE Short $12
    • Art Sketchbook $8   
  • Chromebook check-out will take place on Wednesday, August 9th, Thursday, August 10th, and Friday, August 11th from 8:00 am- 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm-3:00 pm in the RMS Library.  ***Students must have their online registration completed before being issued a Chromebook.****  Parents and students will need to sign the user agreement, which is attached to this post. It is highly recommended that you purchase a non-refundable $20 insurance policy for the 2023/2024 school year. You can pay for Chromebook insurance with cash or check only.
  • Back to School Night is scheduled at RMS for Tuesday, August 16th, at 5:45 pm. There will be a brief presentation by myself and Mrs. Hart and then students will follow their class schedule to meet all of their teachers. 
  • Ranchos Middle School will be adopting a new schedule on Wednesdays and Thursdays that include no longer having late starts. Instead, we will start school at the normal time (8:10 am) and finish at 2:14 pm. Please see attached schedule. 
  • We will also have a special schedule on the first day of school that allows students to attend all 6 classes instead of the normal Thursday schedule (Even Classes). There will also be a rules assembly at the end of the day as well. Please see attached schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

-What school supplies does my child need to start the school year? Our classes will predominantly use a Chromebook for classwork and homework. Please reference the recommended supply list that was sent out earlier in the month and also attached to this post. Teachers will clarify expected class supplies in the class syllabus.  **NOTE: Students should have an agenda to use throughout the school year. Agendas are available to purchase in the RMS office for $3 or you may purchase your own from a store.

-Does my child bring lunch money into the office to update their lunch account? Breakfast and lunch will be free for all students for the 2023-2024 school year. 
-Will my child need to dress out for PE on the first day of school? Your child will not need to dress out on the first day of school. Mr. and Mrs. Norris will give your child further instructions on when PE clothes are available and when they are expected to dress out.

-Are water bottles allowed in the classrooms? It is highly encouraged for students to carry a refillable water bottle. RMS has a water bottle refilling station located in the cafeteria.
-What can my child wear that is in the dress code? All students must be in dress code when on campus. Please refer to the updated dress code that is outlined in the RMS Student/Parent Handbook for further information. Any questions please contact Mrs. Hart at [email protected] or call 559-645-3550.
