Independent Study may be requested if a student will be absent for three(3) or more days. To request Independent Study, a parent/guardian must contact the main office at (559) 645-3550 at least five(5) days prior to the absences. Independent Study may be requested for illness or travel. The main office will confirm if the request has been granted or denied.

To participate in the RMS promotion ceremonies, eighth grade students must attend school 90% of all periods by the promotion date on June 9th. This means students can not miss more than 17 days per year or 102 periods per year. All absences, excused or unexcused, except those for school activities, will be counted in this rule. With prior administrative approval, Saturday school may be used to make up a maximum of twelve periods (four periods per Saturday School). Saturday school may not be used as a credit for future absences. * Student's attendance information can be viewed on Aeries*

If you haven't done so already, please fill out the free and reduced lunch application at the following link EZMealApp. Filling out the free and reduced lunch form is important because it helps bring additional funding and services to RMS. Even if your child brings their own lunch or attends a school where all students receive free lunch, completing the form ensures that the school receives all available support to benefit teachers and students.
